Never heard the term ‘eggcorn’ before, but I shoe like it! (And if the shoe was on both feet, I’d use a bunch of them in the first chapter to make clear it is not a typo but part of the characterization….)

Absolutely, Mirka. The occasional wryly won’t hurt (and can even be just the exact fix) and I often see the turn-taking guideline broken with no confusion at all. I actually suspect there is a whole subset of guidelines that provides exceptions to turn-taking in a whole lot of situations — but it might be easier just to say, “Go with your gut.”
